Our Local Growers
Supporting local farms isn’t a trend at Limehouse. We’ve been part of Lowcountry agriculture for the better part of 70 years. We were here when local growers shipped truckloads of tomatoes, green beans, bell peppers, potatoes and a dozen other items to cities along the eastern seaboard during the summer harvest months. The farming industry has changed, but we’re still devoted to the men and women who devote their lives growing better produce for Charleston’s people. Buying local produce makes sense because it puts money back into our local economy, reduces our reliance on fossil fuels for transportation, and helps us tell a story about where our food comes from. Not only do we help sustain the businesses of more than two dozen area producers, but we are farmers ourselves. We hope you’ll come to love what we grow in South Carolina.
